Hi! So nice to meet you.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m Marce Pacheco, a Costa Rican children’s book illustrator and author based in Buenos Aires.
For many years, I worked as an award-winning creative copywriter in advertising, but my love for storytelling and my passion for illustration eventually led me down a new path: becoming a full-time illustrator—and I’ve been having a wonderful time ever since!
I studied picture book illustration at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) in Buenos Aires, and I continue learning through one of my favorite things: getting together with fellow illustrators to draw and share ideas.
I love creating expressive characters and telling stories filled with humor and warmth. Animals often find their way into my illustrations—and into my home, too! I share my home with Pepino, a rescue dog we adopted from a shelter; Budín, who we found wandering the streets; and Domingo, a cat who has firmly claimed the couch as his own.
